DESCRIPTION
Zari (Ζάρι): A name inspired by the Armenian word “զարի / zari,” meaning “ornament” or “adornment.”
A richly woven Armenian wool throw featuring traditional border florals, earthy neutrals, and deep winter reds. With its weight, texture, and intricate patterning, Zari brings layered history and heirloom warmth to any interior.
Zari draws from the Armenian concept of textile adornment — the idea that weaving is a form of storytelling, protection, and cultural continuity. Armenian throws were historically crafted for winter homes in the highlands, designed to offer both physical warmth and visual richness through the cold season.
The dark fringe symbolizes grounding and protection, while the floral and geometric bands represent prosperity, resilience, and the endurance of craft across borders and generations.
By bringing Armenian weaving into The Heirloom Hearth, the collection honors our founder’s Armenian roots from her maternal grandmother, interconnecting textile histories of the Eastern Mediterranean — regions bound by migration, trade, symbol, and craft.
