Vibrant and full of rhythm, this hand-loomed Karameloti textile hails from the mountainous regions of Crete, embodying Greece’s enduring legacy of artisanal craftsmanship. Its bold geometric pattern in fuchsia and cream is a departure from the traditional indigo palette, infusing a playful yet structured elegance that draws from ancient Greek mosaics and Byzantine motifs.

Handwoven in the 1970s, it showcases the meticulous handwork of local Cretan weavers, who passed down this technique through generations. The edges are adorned with hand-tied cotton tassels, each one a nod to traditional finishing methods that have been preserved for centuries.

Versatile in its use, The Cretan Rose Weave can be styled as a statement throw, a vibrant bed cover, or even as a tapestry to infuse any space with Cretan heritage. Its bold color and geometric precision make it a timeless heirloom—woven to last and designed to captivate.

All of our stock is sourced from personal collections of the highest quality craftsmanship, with each piece hand-chosen by our founder based on rarity, provenance, and artisanal integrity. When sourced, most textiles remain NFS (not for sale) in our founder’s personal collection, with each piece slowly released into the inventory on an ongoing basis.

As each piece was painstakingly handmade on a loom, there can be natural defects, as well as minor signs of age, appropriate to its provenance and past use, which we find quite beautiful, adding to its soul.
