DESCRIPTION
Thalpos (Θάλπος): Greek for “warmth” — referring to both physical heat and the emotional comfort of the hearth, companionship, and winter gathering.
A handwoven Greek wool throw in rich tones of ember orange, amber gold, and deep brown, arranged in bold checkered bands. Finished with a golden border and tassels, Thalpos brings seasonal radiance, comfort, and heritage craft to the winter home.
Thalpos (Θάλπος) is a word rarely used in modern Greek but deeply evocative. It signifies a warmth that is not just felt, but shared — the kind that emanates from firelight, hospitality, and closeness during winter months.
The geometric bands recall traditional Greek blankets woven for long mountain winters, where pattern served as both protection and expression. The tassels represent festivity and abundance — historically added to throws used during celebrations, name-days, and seasonal rites.
With its radiant palette and ceremonial details, Thalpos embodies the heart of The Heirloom Hearth: textiles alive with tradition, crafted for evenings by the fire, and rooted in the emotional archaeology of winter.
