High in the misty mountains of Chiapas, where clouds dance with the peaks and the air smells of wildflowers, lived two inseparable sheep: Pelusita, with her soft white fleece like clouds, and Pelusito, with his unique patchwork of brown and black wool, resembling the earthy tones of their beloved homeland. They were no ordinary sheep; they were dreamers, curious about the world beyond the lush valleys and steep trails of their mountain home.

One day, while grazing under a golden sunrise, they overheard a group of travelers speaking about distant lands, ancient ruins, and a magical place called Greece. Their words painted pictures of olive groves, marble temples, and blue seas stretching to infinity. Inspired by tales of adventure, Pelusita and Pelusito decided to set out on a journey, carrying with them the spirit of their Chiapan heritage.

The pair wandered through bustling markets in Mexico, sharing stories with artisans who admired their vibrant wool and curious nature. They floated across oceans, following the whispers of the wind, until they arrived in the enchanting city of Athens. There, they discovered Anthologist, a shop that felt like destiny—a treasure trove of stories and objects from around the globe.

Now nestled among handcrafted treasures in the heart of Athens, Pelusita and Pelusito bring the spirit of Chiapas to Greece. Their woolly charm and playful personalities are a reminder of the world’s connection through art, culture, and imagination. They’ve become ambassadors of warmth and creativity, ready to bring joy to anyone who welcomes them into their home.

DESCRIPTION

Inspired by the Spanish word Peluso, meaning “fluffy,” our darling sheep, Pelusita (white) and Pelusito (brown and black), are lovingly handcrafted by a women’s cooperative in the mountains of Chiapas, Mexico exclusively for Anthologist. Each sheep is a whimsical blend of artistry and charm, embodying the spirit of their homeland with vibrant, natural wool and playful personalities.

Following our founder’s mantra of “a piece of whimsy in every room,” Pelusita and Pelusito are more than décor—they’re conversation starters, artful companions, and symbols of cultural preservation. Whether perched on a shelf or nestled in a child’s nook, these fluffy treasures are certain to bring smiles and warmth wherever they go.
