DESCRIPTION
A rare and dramatic vintage Greek textile, this embroidered runner weaves together folklore, flora, and a hint of theatrical fantasy. Twin peacocks frame a central amphora overflowing with embroidered florals, all stitched in rich shades of lapis, terracotta, and sepia. Crescent moons and scroll motifs add to the enchanted balance, giving the piece a storybook quality—like something set out for a feast under candlelight in a painted village home. Rooted in tradition, it transforms even the simplest setting into something sacred.
As each piece was painstakingly handmade on a loom, there can be natural defects, as well as minor signs of age, appropriate to its provenance and past use, which we find quite beautiful, adding to its soul.
