DESCRIPTION
Created to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Greece’s independence, and inspired by an original shoehorn used by Evzones—formerly the light infantry army of Greece which are now seen protecting the tomb of the unknown solider in Athens—this piece is a true conversation starter. Their iconic shoes, or tsarouchi in Greek, are spotted by their striking red color and black fringed pom pom.
This piece makes an excellent gift or simply an object placed on a stack of books.
All of our brass objects are hand-cast using ancient methods including sand molds. The last step of the production process is a hand-polishing to showcase each piece’s inherent brilliance. Some imperfections are natural.
