DESCRIPTION
Karmeliá (Καρμελιά – A poetic variation drawn from karmelioti, with a softened, feminine inflection. Suggests both place and ritual.)
A vintage karmelioti from Crete, Karmeliá is woven in a rich carmine red and warm ivory, forming a pattern of starbursts and interlocking diamonds. Traditionally made on upright looms and associated with bridal dowries and festive occasions, these pieces were often used to cover beds, tables, or even hung on walls as symbols of pride and protection.
Hand-knotted with tasseled ends and full of rhythmic geometry, this textile brings both precision and warmth to any space. A perfect statement for a bed, the back of a sofa, or layered with neutral linen for striking contrast.
