DESCRIPTION
Hand-hammered in Santa Clara del Cobre — the copper heartland of Mexico — this sculptural rabbit vessel continues a legacy shaped by generations of master metalworkers.
Created by the team behind one of Mexico’s most revered copper maestros, the piece carries forward a tradition that Andria has supported for over a decade. Following the maestro’s passing during the pandemic, Anthologist has remained committed to sustaining the family workshop, ensuring that the rhythm of hammer on copper does not fall silent.
Each vessel is formed from a single sheet of copper, shaped entirely by hand through repeated hammering, fire, and patience. The softly rounded body and gently modeled features evoke both playfulness and reverence, a symbolic creature of renewal, crafted in a town where copper has defined identity for centuries.
Santa Clara del Cobre, designated a Pueblo Mágico, is renowned for its artisanal copper heritage. Here, no molds are used; each object is shaped individually, giving subtle variation in surface texture and patina.
Launched just in time for Easter, the Rabbit Vessel speaks to themes of rebirth and continuity, not only seasonally, but generationally.
Shown here arranged in collaboration with Secret Garden Athens, the vessel becomes both sculpture and container, equally at home holding wild spring florals or standing alone as a collectible object.
