Namir — meaning “tiger” in Arabic — is an extension of the Anthologist Ark, a growing collection of handcrafted creatures inspired by storytelling, memory, and cultural craftsmanship.
Created in Egypt in collaboration with a women-led collective run by two sisters, Namir is crocheted entirely by hand in the artisans’ homes, allowing the makers to work within their own rhythms and communities. Anthologist works exclusively with this collective, supporting a long-term partnership rooted in trust, continuity, and shared values.
Woven from yarn made using carpet off-cuts and surplus textile remnants, every Namir is made to order and carries subtle variations in tone, texture, and weave, making each one completely unique. Both playful and sculptural, Namir reflects the spirit of the collection itself: objects made slowly, by hand, with personality, soul, and a sense of wonder.
