The Sun-Warmed Thread: A Textile Story for Summer

There’s something unmistakably nostalgic about the summer light in Greece. It clings to fabric the way memories cling to skin—soft, golden, and enduring. It’s woven into linens that hang from seaside balconies, softened by the Aegean sun, and stitched into tablecloths that have graced generations of terraces.

This season, Anthologist introduces its first drop of 2025: The Sun-Warmed Thread—a curated collection of vintage and heirloom textiles that celebrate the poetry of sunlit living.

Each piece is entirely unique—a coveted fragment of Greek heritage, sourced from the quiet villages of the Cyclades, hidden antique shops in the Peloponnese, and private collections amassed over decades. From airy Cretan woven linens to bright Metsovo geometrics and delicate, hand-embroidered florals, these textiles are the embodiment of summer’s ease and elegance.

"Each Anthologist textile is a one-of-a-kind heirloom, gathered over years, never mass-produced,” says founder Andria Mitsakos. “By collecting vintage and antique fabrics, we honor the craftsmanship of the past and give it a new future—woven into contemporary homes with meaning, not waste.”

That process is deeply personal.

“I source these pieces the way others might collect art—slowly, carefully, and with reverence for their origins,” Andria explains. “Most of what I find stays in my personal collection for a while, to be honest. They are too special to let go of right away. Only after some time do I consider them for Anthologist’s inventory.”

The result is a capsule of sun-warmed color and soul: magazine-page-worthy pieces destined to sell out. These textiles are never mass-produced, never replicated—just hand-chosen expressions of Greek craft and character, ready to be layered into homes around the world.
