Glass, Light & Legend: The Anthologist Holiday Table
There is something about glass in wintertime — the way it catches the low sun, the way it glows beside candlelight, the way it turns a holiday table into a small constellation. At Anthologist, our holiday collections have always honored this quiet magic. This year, our blown-glass pieces from Athens take center stage: pomegranates, amphoras, and ornaments hand-formed by one of the city’s last remaining master glassblowers.
Each object carries not only the breath and fire of its making, but the memory of an ancient craft that has echoed through the Mediterranean for millenia.
Pomegranates: Symbols of Luck & Abundance

Long considered a talisman of prosperity, the pomegranate has been woven into Greek celebrations for generations — cracked open at the turn of the year, shared at weddings, offered to usher in good fortune.
Our Anthologist blown-glass pomegranates reinterpret this beloved symbol in swirls of ruby red and gold. Available in three sizes, each piece is hand-blown in Athens, with no two ever exactly alike. Their warm, luminous surfaces anchor the holiday table — gathered in the center like a still life or placed individually at each setting as tokens of luck.
Hand-Blown Ornaments: Little Spheres of Light

Hanging from the branches of a fir tree or suspended above the table from velvet ribbon, our blown-glass ornaments are small marvels of color and clarity. Their hues — amber, garnet, sea-green, and smoke — glow differently depending on the hour. At night, they become lanterns; by day, prisms.
Like everything in the Anthologist universe, they are made slowly and intentionally — shaped by our partner Alex who understands glass not as a material, but as a kind of alchemy.
Glass Amphoras: Modern Heirlooms

The amphora is one of Greece’s most enduring silhouettes — a vessel that once carried oil, wine, water, and myth. Our contemporary rendition distills the form into something sculptural and serene. Hand-blown with subtle curves and soft transparency, each amphora becomes a centerpiece in its own right.
Filled with branches, berries, or nothing at all, they stand on the table as guardians of the season.
A Celebration of Craft
In an age when speed overshadows intention, our blown-glass collection honors the handmade, the imperfect, the soulful. Each piece is touched by fire and guided by breath — a reminder of how beauty is made, and how stories are carried forward.
This holiday season, let your table become a place of light, ritual, and resonance. And let these glass pieces — born in Athens, shaped by artistry, rooted in heritage — set the tone for gatherings filled with warmth and wonder.
