"As the cradle of Minoan civilization, Crete is a mystical, enriching destination, and a natural fit for Anthologist. Distinctive color palettes from Knossos, along with its architecture, and famed objects, are a treasure trove of inspiration. Owner Agapi Sbokou is a client and friend for many years, and we share a love for the authentic, the romantic and the beautiful. Architectural designer Vana Pernari did an incredible job with the design of this hotel, and I’m honored to open Anthologist’s first Crete outpost here."

Anthologist enters the retail market with a jewel box of a boutique at this modernist resort on Crete.
Originally conceived by Antonis Stylianides—who worked under Bauhaus legend Walter Gropius—the resort’s striking modernist structures have been transformed by architect Vana Pernari into a minimalist backdrop that emphasizes the island’s architectural heritage and is the perfect backdrop to lush botanical gardens. The property opened in July, 2020, offering a modern take on quintessential Cretan hospitality with a focus on mindful living and an emphasis on local culinary traditions. It’s a timeless environment where guests can commune with the natural surroundings and local culture, and Anthologist has created a shop that empowers them to bring home some of that Cretan vibe.
In our boutique, opening April 2021 guests will be able to take home the cheese plate, embellished with Crete’s own Kri Kri brass goat, that they admired in the on-site restaurant; a key chain featuring Crete's Minoan snake goddess; or an antique Cretan textile, along with other atmospheric objects that allow visitors to keep their vacation going. Select items sold will also be used by the hotel at turn-down and as gifts for VIP guests and special occasions.
